Studies suggest that molecular hydrogen could be a promising treatment for diabetes and its complications. In research with diabetic rats, hydrogen-rich saline improved erectile dysfunction, a common issue in men with diabetes. The results showed that hydrogen boosted nitric oxide levels, helping restore blood flow and erectile function. It also increased protective proteins in the tissue while reducing harmful ones. These findings suggest that hydrogen-rich saline could be a potential treatment for erectile dysfunction in people with diabetes.
“Japanese researchers recruited patients with type 2 diabetes and elevated blood glucose levels for a clinical study. The goal was to observe the effects of drinking hydrogen-rich water (900cc) for 8 weeks. The study found that oxidative LDL levels in the blood and 8-isoprostaglandin levels in the urine (as indicators of oxidative stress) were significantly reduced. This result indicates that hydrogen-rich water consumption lowers cardiovascular oxidative states in diabetes patients, with 4 patients with elevated blood glucose levels returning to normal and improved insulin resistance.”
