Crosses the blood-brain barrier: Therapy for Brain Injuries and Cerebrovascular Diseases

Research suggests that hydrogen therapy may help with brain injuries and conditions like hypoxia and neonatal brain disorders. In a clinical trial, hydrogen-rich water reduced oxidative stress and improved symptoms in Parkinson’s patients over 48 weeks. Studies also show that hydrogen gas protects the brain after traumatic injuries by reducing swelling, limiting blood- brain barrier damage, and improving brain function.

While hydrogen therapy shows promise, it may be less effective in severe brain injuries, and further research is needed to optimize treatment. Overall, hydrogen therapy offers potential as a safe, innovative treatment for brain injuries and cerebrovascular diseases, conditions affecting hundreds of thousands in the U.S. each year.
