In his book, Professor Liu lists clinical studies that prove the preventive effects of hydrogen molecules on liver disease: “49 liver cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy were recruited and continuously drank hydrogen water for 6 weeks. Their physiological and sensory changes in response to various side effects of radiotherapy were tracked via a questionnaire. The results showed that the hydrogen water group had decreased oxidative metabolites and increased antioxidant indices in physiological tests. Thus, hydrogen water can alleviate discomfort caused by radiotherapy for liver cancer. Another study recruited 60 hepatitis B patients for a clinical trial. The results confirmed that drinking hydrogen-rich water continuously for 6 weeks not only had a liver-protective effect (with decreased GOT and GPT values) but also alleviated the viral load of hepatitis B in liver blood and oxidative stress indices.”
