Recently, a hydrogen friend asked us about the issue of "deuterium poisoning" and said that he had read an article stating that "electrolyzed hydrogen is high-deuterium hydrogen reacted from water and can cause immune system diseases and cancer." This is nonsense.
What is deuterium?
Deuterium is an isotope of hydrogen. Hydrogen atoms carry one proton and one electron; deuterium atoms carry one proton, one electron and one neutron. Deuterium has similar chemical properties to hydrogen, but because it has one more neutron, it is heavier than hydrogen, so it is also called heavy hydrogen.
Deuterium is a substance that exists forever in nature. The deuterium concentration in seawater is about 30mg/L , and the deuterium concentration in general drinking water is also about 150 ppm . Do you believe that such substances can affect the human immune system and even cause cancer?
Deuterium research
Some manufacturers claim that if the deuterium concentration in the water is reduced to 125 ppm or lower, the "low-deuterium water" produced can prevent cancer. They even state that "if you don't drink low-deuterium water, you will get cancer" and "deuterium is a carcinogen." ” absurd conclusion.
The research on deuterium was published in 1993 , but over the past 25 years, research in this area has not only received little attention, but also has very few research papers. Studies by Eastern European scholars have shown that if deuterium-depleted water "acts directly" on cancer cells ( rather than drinking it ) , it will help inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Such research results not only cannot prove that "deuterium-low water can prevent cancer", but there are currently no human experiments that can prove that "drinking deuterium-low water has a positive impact on cancer" or that "deuterium is a carcinogen . "
Deuterium is a substance that exists in nature and water. There is always a trace amount of deuterium in the human body. Even if we don’t know whether “deuterium” will cause harm to the human body, as long as it does not additionally affect the concentration of deuterium, what is there to worry about?
The hydrogen gas produced by electrolyzing water contains "high concentrations of deuterium", can it cause cancer ?
Deuterium has a fixed copper content (150 ppm) in ordinary water . To produce additional deuterium and increase the concentration of deuterium in water requires a large amount of energy. As can be seen in our "Analysis of Hydrogen Production Technology" article, the electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen will not produce excess deuterium.
There have been many studies on hydrogen molecule health care in the medical field in just a dozen years, including solid research and experiments on hydrogen water and breathing hydrogen molecules. As for deuterium, even after 25 years of research , there is still no progress.
Neither the U.S. FDA , Japan's Ministry of Health and Welfare, nor top academic institutions in various countries have mentioned "deuterium" when studying the safety of hydrogen molecules, hydrogen water / hydrogen gas.
If a manufacturer stigmatizes deuterium and makes conclusions without rigorous scientific experiments in order to promote low-deuterium water, it is really a disgrace to the trust of consumers.
After getting to know hydrogen molecules, the UPH team conducted a lot of research and read many international journals and papers before deciding to promote hydrogen molecule health care in Taiwan. All UPH hydrogen breathing products are inspected to the highest standards to provide you with the best quality and safest hydrogen experience . Welcome to make an appointment for free and let your body tell you the magic of "hydrogen molecules"!
